Inland Orange County.

Today has been busy and I’m exhausted so there’s going to be a few spelling mistakes here!

We left Costa Mesa and drove half an hour to Irvine, Orange. We went to Irvine State Park which has a variety of inexpensive activities to do and is a great day our for children. They do train rides ($5), pony rides ($5), paddle boats ($15 for 30mins), bike hire ($8-35) and horse riding ($45). Faye rode two ponies Dolly and Rain and would now like one in her back yard! They have snack bars as well which are pretty reasonable but you can also bring your own picnic and use their built in BBQs too. The park also holds the Orange County Zoo which is $2 to get in and kids go free! Unfortunately we ran out of time and didn’t get to go but it holds over 100 animals. I only found this place on an advert for an Orange County map I had, it wasn’t written about in any of the books or Internet research I did. It was a great find, we loved it.

We then left there and went to the ‘Outlets at Orange’. Was 20 from Irvine. Now this is deadly if you’re backpacking as you’ve got to be able to fit it all in! But it’s a good small sized outlet with plenty of bargains!

We are now at our next hotel, Knott’s Berry Farm, Anaheim, where we are staying for three nights to explore the Knott’s Berry Theme Park and Soak City Water Park.
